Dr Roger Kermode, Director of Business Development for UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT, takes role of Co-Director for the NSW Space Research Network.
UTS Tech Lab is excited to introduce Dr Roger Kermode as the newly appointed Co-Director of the NSW Space Research Network (SRN). Dr Kermode will join Professor Stefan Williams of the University of Sydney to lead SRN’s research and industry collaboration program of initiatives.
Dr Kermode leads business development for UTS’ Faculty of Engineering and IT with a current focus on Space, Defence and Advanced Manufacturing. He has over 20 years of deep technology and early-stage commercialisation experience in roles that span Corporate, Consulting, Startups and Academia in Australia the USA and Asia. He has also served as a founding Board Member of the SRN and brings his extensive research and commercialisation expertise to the SRN to drive the growth of network activities.

Roger’s commercialisation experience will be pivotal to the SRN’s next stage of development. We will focus on extending engagement with industry to foster deeper collaboration with academic space researchers to support the creation of new IP through R & D projects. The NSW Space Research Network was established in 2021 and is funded by the NSW Government through the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer and Investment NSW.
The network’s mission is to drive transformational engagement and impact of NSW space research to bring novel capabilities to the Australian and International space sectors.
